Hi all,
Brand new to karting and hoping to start up my first LO206 season (Senior class) in 2018. I spectated at December 10th's event, and from what I remember, the standard LO206 gearing seemed to be around 13-55. What would you all recommend as a gear ratio starting point for the GCKI track, and which gears do you keep handy? I'm planning to race at both GCKI and Speedsportz. Thanks in advance!

Re: LO206: Questions About Gearing
Dylan,
You were close to the right gear but you need a 15T front driver not 13! I recommend keeping from a 55 to a 58 gearing, while speedsportz is going to be a harder track to gear for, you may want a 53 with a 15 front tooth

For GCKI where do you typically hit the rev limiter in relation to the flag stand?

Thanks sir! I need to be doing some re-gearing. I figured I was on it way too early.

Re: LO206: Questions About Gearing
Honestly not sure. My kart isn't up to weight spec either though and I'm a light guy, probably 165 with gear. I'll hit the limiter quite a ways back from the stand. I'm brand new though only had the kart out once, have a lot to learn.

Re: LO206: Questions About Gearing
If you plan on racing the lo206, then i would go about adjusting the weight before you adjust the gearing. that way you arent changing things for nothing!
