ANNUAL GCKI Members Meeting - Feb 10, 2026

GCKI Members,

Happy 2026 to all! I’m looking forward to a great year ahead for GCKI.

Be an active and informed GCKI member by joining us for the Annual GCKI Members Meeting on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 7:00 PM.

This annual meeting is an excellent opportunity for members to share ideas and provide direct input to the Board of Directors. We will also conduct the acceptance of officer nominations and hold elections for 2026 officers and open board positions. In addition, we will provide an overview of our financial position, membership numbers, and current as well as planned facility and racing enhancements.

Wild West Motoplex Katy has graciously offered their showroom to host the meeting. Food and beverages will be provided, creating a relaxed, end-of-day environment for conversation and engagement.

Please join us and be actively involved as we drive GCKI into the new year. This is your club—be a part of shaping our future!

2026 Greater Houston Race Series

We are excited to announce the return of the Greater Houston Race Series (GHRS) for 2026!

All online early race entries are eligible for the Free set of tires drawing at the driver’s meeting! *Must have 40 or more online entries for tire drawing.

The Greater Houston Race Series will be a 14-race season, 7 at Speedsportz and 7 at GCKI. This will be made up of a Spring and Fall Championship, with the best 5 out of 7 races per season counting for points. To be eligible for a season championship you must compete in at least 2 events at each track per Spring or Fall Season. (Double header counts as one race event for drops and/or participation purposes)

In addition to the Spring and Fall Series winners, the 2026 GHRS overall Championship will be the combined best 5 of 7 race points from both the Spring and Fall Series. To qualify for the 2026 overall championship, a minimum of 2 race events per season per venue is required.

• Members of either SRP or GCKI pay $75 race entry fee, which includes ONLY the racers wrist band. All others buy wrist band at the gate.
• The non-member entry fee at both tracks is $125.
• Club members may practice for free the day before a race at both tracks, Non-members pay the track defined practice day fee.
  
  

GHRS Race Registration

RACE FORMAT:

The race day format shall be controlled practice, followed by qualifying session, 12 lap Pre-final, 16 lap main. (Number of laps may be modified by race director based on weather or track configuration)

In the event a class has less than 4 entries, race day trophies will be awarded for one less than the number of entries. Each class MUST have a minimum of 5 entries for that race to count towards season points.

Classes may be combined on track at the discretion of the race director, depending on the number of entries.

*Classes may be added/dropped, or weights modified if needed to enable fair and competitive racing.

**Fuel**
Fuel: VP MS98, VP C12
Oil: Motul 2T / ELF HTX909

**Tires**
All classes shall run Evinco Blue tires, except TAG and Shifter which run Evinco Red.
Both old and new compounds are acceptable.

LO206 United States Ruleset.

Kid Kart Ruleset:
Honda Performance Development GXH50 Class Information
*Both Briggs and Honda engine packages are allowed for Kid Kart class. Weight for
either engine package may be adjusted at the discretion of series management to
enhance fairness if needed

VP MS93 / Buc-ees Ethanol-free 87 octane / Speedsportz Ethanol-free

**Tires**
All classes shall run Evinco Blue tires.
Both old and new compounds are acceptable

*Classes may be added/dropped, or weights modified if needed to enable fair and competitive racing.

Non-Member Saturday Paid Practice

Racers,

We have seen a large increase in the number of racers practicing on Saturday before a Sunday race.

In an effort to make our Saturday’s both SAFER, and to ensure all have equal practice time, we will now be controlling the Saturday activities.

The format will be the same as controlled practice on race day mornings. Our race director will have full control of the track and keep time for each practice session.

Non-Member drivers will now be required to pay a $50 Saturday practice fee which includes the driver pass. (Additional insurance bands can be purchased for $10 ea. with the Saturday practice if needed)

When a Non-Member racer registers for the race, they will be prompted to purchase the Saturday pass if applicable.

Please have patience, it may take a race or two to get our new processes flowing smoothly.
