Can a kart with a yz 125 be raced in the shifter kart class... I am new to karting please be gentle...thanks

Yes, it can be raced in either the S1 or G1. S1 if you are under 35, G1 if you are over. Or if you are over 35 and feel extra young you could run in S1. At Katy all the shifters are usually in one big group anyway. There are a few modified Hondas out there sometimes and an occasional ICC, those would be your primary competition on a race day. Most of the shifters are stock Hondas (the S3, S4, and S5 classes).
