Hey Dan,
I'm not so sure what is so special about the tools you have listed but you can pick up a pair of safety wire pliers for about half that price from Fastech (7" pliers for $21.95). Go to: http://www.fastech-racing.com/safety-wire-tools/

Re: Which safety wire pliers?
If it's any consolation..I purchased a pair of auto return safety wire pliers from Harbor Freight a few yrs back...used them for our bikes and now the karts...holding up fine and functioning as well as the big $$ products! I think they were less than $10 I actually bought (2) pair for obvious reasons...2nd pair still in the box. I was in there the other day picking up some T-handles ($4.99)...they still have the pliers! John

Re: Which safety wire pliers?
One suggestion on Harbor Freight... They have a larger pair of pliers, and a smaller set. Get the larger ones. The smaller ones struggle to grab the wire and lock. Plus they like to release when the spinner pops back, halfway through your tying. I've had 2 of the smaller sets and 2 of the larger ones. Threw the smaller ones away after I realized the difference.
Physically there isn't squat for size difference, and I think they come in the same size box.
Could be I got a bad batch, but I bought them over a couple years time.
