I just got a Michron4 and in reading the manual, there are (2) types of Lap Receivers, Magnetic and Optical. Which one works for our track?
Thanks,
Kenny Brown

Re: Tech
I appreciate the intent of this class and our goals match those of the club. We stress to Kade to be smart and safe and learn to drive the kart as hard as he can. I have bought some used parts and Rick in Tech is very helpful in making sure these parts are legal. We were DQ'ed for our air cleaner fa...

Re: practise
I'll let you know later this week. I'm waiting on parts to get running again. We broke the neck off the carburetor, lost the air filter and broke the mount for the gas pedal off the pedal riser at the last race.
Thanks for the notice and if not this week, I know another time.

Re: Fuel?
This ended up being a big deal on Sunday. We drained our pump gas and borrowed some race gas. (2) Karts were DQ'ed in qualifying for the wrong fuel.
I am going buy some race gas and run it all the time. We use so little, it seems like it will be more trouble than it's worth switching back and forth.

Re: kids safety gear
Tech was a little rougher today. We had removed the muffler shield and added SOME weight, but had to add more. We drained our pump gas and borrowed some race gas. At least (2) Karts were DQ'ed in qualifying for the wrong fuel. We were DQ'ed in the final because the air filter came off (think it came...

Front End Alignment
We just starting racing this year with my son Kade in a Kid Kart. I recently had to replace a tie rod and did my best to align the front wheels. Any suggestions short of special tools?
Thanks,
Kenny Brown

Re: kids safety gear
I speak from only one race, but tech was very "newbie" friendly. They pointed out several things they check, weight, tire pressure (by their gauge). We are underweight and I don't have a weight adding system yet. I see lots of karts with weights bolted to the seat, but I am trying to find an alterna...

Re: newbie
I spent much more time researching helmets and neck protection than buying the kart. The Snell rating is important to us. We went with Simpson. Kade is too small for any of the neck braces, so we have a K2 foam ring with the little extension down the back of the neck. Momma picked out the rest of th...
