Re: MY07 Legal for Tag Sr?
Hi Nick, welcome to the club. The MY07 should be OK for TaG. It's not a bad engine, but you don't see them around much anymore. If it were me buying the kart, I would spend a little bit of money and have one of our local shops take a look (Joe Bauhs, or AB Rodriguez at 3G know these motors well). Lo...

Re: Tire Softener
Chris, im not aware of any tire softening chemicals, and would suspect that they are not legal to use. The MGs in stock form have more than sufficient grip for the 4stroke class. The search for grip involves tuning your kart. Try different things in practice and you will eventually find the best set...

Re: Newbie looking for advice
Chris, I think posted a wanted ad will work for you to find the kart for your daughter. There a re quite a few members that don't post much, but will read you ad and certainly point you in the right direction. That's how I found my daughter's kid kart. As for the 206, since you opted for the CRG, I ...

Re: Newbie looking for advice
Chris, Your daughter is the right age and size to be in a kid-kart. These are the slowest karts you can get, but are very well sorted out. With very little tuning work you can adjust the speed at which your daughter will need to run. I know because I was in your shoes not too long ago. I have two da...

Re: Newbie looking for advice
Hi Chris, Welcome to Houston. The first advice I ever got when I was getting started was to come out to one of the club races and see for yourself all the different options you can chose from. Pretty much everyone at the track is very friendly and always willing to help out. There is a club race thi...

Re: timing system at the track
For racing we use the magnetic strip. If you are shopping for a transponder, we use the MYLAPS AMB system. For personal use, there is an IR beacon as well if you want to use your Mychron but it's not set up at the start finish line, it is right across from the hot-pit. For personal use, I would reco...

Re: Relatively new to karting, questions (motors, track widt
Unfortunately, like Patrick said, there is no good way to tell when the Leopard is needing a re-build, unlike other 2-strokes where the performance decline is more visible. To be on the safe side, invest a little bit of time and money and bring your motor in to Joe Bauhs for an inspection. You might...
