Re: Wreck
Patrick is exactly right. You weren't far enough up on the other driver, so he didn't see you. The straightaway had just begun, he hadn't even had time to make his move yet. Give me a shout if you want to discuss. 713-806-4042. The reason this happened is because you made the wrong move in the first...

Re: Wreck
You are not allowed to block, but you are allowed to defend. There is a difference. You are allowed one defensive move when you enter the straight - #4 exited the corner on the right and made his move to the left. Once he is on the left, he is stuck there. If he moves back to the right, he "blocked"...

Re: Wreck
You have more kart on #4 than #4 has on the other guy, but #4 was making a move to the inside to defend. It didn't matter how much kart #4 had on the other guy because it was still the beginning of the straightaway. Certainly, #4 could have been more aware. But you came out of the corner entering th...

Re: Wreck
Sorry you bent your frame and ruined your race. It's never fun to watch a race from the sidelines. However, that accident was your fault. He was overtaking another driver and was occupying the inside. Even if he was occupying the inside to defend, he still has that right. You weren't even close to b...

Re: Tire Softener
Tire softener chemicals are definitely illegal. We call it "juicing" tires and it's a no-no. As far as running in the rain, it's not just MG Reds that don't have grip. All slicks don't have grip when you are running a go kart with ackerman steering, like we run. On a wet day, you'll just need to put...

Re: Newbie looking for advice
Slim. There was a big push a few years ago, when Chonda was the big 4-stroke class, to get Chonda cadet going. There was never more than 2 or 3 participants - it's just not where the Juniors race. You could try to push for it and rally some people together to build the class yourself, but I would sa...

Re: Newbie looking for advice
If you bought from a local shop, you'd also save on shipping ;) There are a bunch of great local shops that would be glad to talk you through what classes are popular for the series you want to run. The guys at NOLA are not active in the local and regional races in Texas, so they aren't going to hav...

Re: Newbie looking for advice
I wouldn't if I were you. Go to the races and look around and what classes people are running - if you don't see anyone running a Cadet 4-stroke class, then she will be the only one out there running it. Give me a call today if you would like to discuss - 713 806 4042. It will depend on what kind of...

Re: Newbie looking for advice
Great! Congrats. You'll like racing in the Briggs class out there. Again, she will be too old for kid kart by the time she gets up and running, and that's a good thing anyway. Just find a kart shop you trust and buy one from them locally so that you have a team to help teach you the ropes (for your ...

Re: Newbie looking for advice
In my opinion, Rotax is a great way to go for your 7 year old. I always recommend skipping the kid kart class altogether, it's just a nightmare. 7 years old is a little bit old for getting started in the kid kart class, anyway. The Rotax Micromax class is perfect for her to start practicing in. She ...

Re: Newbie looking for advice
Hey Chris, I am glad you enjoyed your time at the track this weekend. As Patrick and Jean Michel indicated, the LO206 is certainly the most economical way to get involved. The biggest expense in this sport, by a very large margin, is tires. I run both shifter and TaG classes, and I go through a set ...

Re: 3G Annual Holiday Sale & Open House!
I raced the 32mm Birel chassis with the X30 powerplant at the last club race and won the overall TaG final while setting a track record for the year in the process. I was very impressed with how the X30 jumped off the corners. Call 3G for details on how to buy the package and get started in the TaG ...

Holiday driver instruction
As many of you know, I spend some time at the track providing driver instruction for all ages - from kid karts to Master Shifter, and everything in between. Over the holidays, I will be off work with plenty of free time to head out to the track and coach, so now is the time to do it. If you are new ...

Re: Changed: add LO206 as an additional 4 stroke class?
The more I think about it, the more I say this sounds like a good direction. By nature, Chonda racing is motor racing, which, unless you want a tuner's class, seems like the wrong way to go. Even if the frontrunners weren't blueprinting their motors, these aftermarket motors aren't manufactured cons...

Re: Changed: add LO206 as an additional 4 stroke class?
They are around the same speed as the chonda, right?
