Jared, either C12 or MS 98 So you can use up your inventory. Eventually only 98 will be stocked by shops.

Re: Tried out new KA100
Kenny, how would you compare it to the 206 four stroke and the TaG X-30 motor on the track? Could this be the transition we have been looking for? maybe with the harder tires of the 4-stroke? just curious.

Re: Why is everyone leaving katy ?
No soap box, just a little background and data. Based on our membership, no one is leaving Katy (more than the usual turnover)as our membership numbers are flat to the previous years. There had been talk that everyone was going to leave to race at the new track as they were going to put out their ow...

Re: Parking situation at GCK race events.
Unfortunately, a side effect of growth is overcrowding. We have posted parking instructions in the past and will do again shortly. There is a tendency to expand to the space available, and as we had lower kart counts early on, habits of taking a lot of space for the pits (and thus less space for car...

Re: Tire rule
The Membership approved the Evinco Blue as the spec tire for the four stroke classes. Last year it was either Evinco Blue or MG Red. As always when we make a tire change, we allow the old tire to be used for the first two races of the year(Spring 1 and 2) so inventory can be used up. Starting with S...

Re: Swap meet / karting demo
Brian, we have not scheduled that event this year, but it was successful last year. I believe we will schedule one in the spring when we have less of a chance of poor weather canceling the event. We will also need better coordination to get more cadet size karts for the youth to try.

Re: Concept; Build a Tag Masters Light class for 2017!
We have always followed the national sanctioned age brackets for insurance purposes, so we have not considered that in the past. There would not be an issue with the insurance as they would be racing in a class that they are nationally eligible. They just would not be allowed to race in another clas...

Re: Concept; Build a Tag Masters Light class for 2017!
Well, I guess I started this conversation when I suggested to David to get a forum discussion together, so I might as well chime in. This works better than trying to solve it in a 15 minute discussion at the annual meeting. I believe the goal is to increase the size of the Masters class and get some...

Re: Vintage Kart
John, The GCKI track is for members only, unless it during a race and registered as non-member and under race day insurance. Membership is relatively inexpensive given the privileges, and would recommend joining if you have interest in driving at the track. We have not had vintage karts at our track...

Re: Will track be open the 13th and 14th for practice
The track will be open for practice Monday the 14th till the new building gets delivered on the 24th. The track will be closed from building delivery till construction is completed, which is expected to take 2-3 weeks.

Re: Tires for a chonda
The correct tire is the MG HZ F 10 X 4.6-5, or the Evinco Blue (10 X 4.6-5). The MG Cadet F 10 X4-5 is designed for the Kid Kart class.

Re: Tire Rotation Direction
The directional nature of the tire is due to the construction of the tire (inner ply overlaps), and not tread. Not sure if there is a performance issue when run backwards, but I suspect there is. The inside wear of the tire is due to the conning effect of the tire under load in the high G corners. T...

Re: Is the IR beacon across from the pits working?
The beacon should be working now. It was moved to the start finish line with batteries for the race, and just now moved. It is plugged into the solar charged battery. It still needs to be turned on (back of beacon) when out at the track. Please turn off when done.
