Re: Is taping on a Chonda blower housing legal?
Taping the blower housing is not legal. Change your main jet to the next smaller size to achieve a higher head temperature. The engine is running colder than it should because the air/fuel mixture is too rich. A smaller main jet will lean out the mixture and bring the head temperatures up.

Re: New to karting
The chassis that I ran in the Chonda class in 2014 and the LO206 class in 2015 was a 2005 Intrepid Suzuka 32mm shifter chassis. I set the Chonda class track record in it in 2014 and held the track record in the LO206 class for most of the 2015 season. My fast time in the LO206 class was .06secs off ...

Re: MyChron4 issues, any ideas
I had the same thing happen with my MyChron and GPS sensor. I had to update the software on the mychron to the latest revision and then the gps sensor was recognized as the instructions describe. The latest revision will be on the AIM website. Hope this clears up your problem.

Re: MS98 Race Fuel
RPM motorsports sells this fuel along with a few other companies in town that will match RPMs pricing. The amount of timing to add is hard to say. I added a ton of timing last year for LSGP with this fuel. I was running 36 deg and the head temps were still in the right range, but I can't say for sur...

Re: Lone Star Grand Prix roll call
I'll be there with my Suburban and maybe a small trailer. My buddy Patrick from Dallas will be with me too but our pit foot print should still be pretty small like last year.

This sounds like a lot of fun! I found an example of a big block on a sprint kart on this website. http://gokartmods.com/gx440-mods-bored-out-gx390/

Re: Chonda Engine Tuning
The tuning session went very well. Mark and I fixed up the engines of Rob, Ted, Barry, Sarin, Bryce and Richard. Unfortunately we weren't able to tune Richards engine due to the carburetor being clogged up with hardened old gas. I learned a number of things during the day that everyone will benefit ...

Re: Chonda Engine Tuning
Thanks for all the effort you two. I didnt get to run after the timing change but Ill be sure and let you all know if the results prove to be faster lap times than my base pre tuning. No problem, let me know how the engine runs when you get a chance to take it back to the track. Also remember, don'...

Re: Chonda Engine Tuning
Does anyone have a local source for the racing spark plugs? I've called every 'major' parts store in northwest Houston and haven't found anyone that carries the AR3910x racing plugs. Thanks. Scott Don't worry about it, I have some extras. Also you can get them from Oreilly auto, but they usually ta...

Re: Chonda Engine Tuning
I'll be coming out to join you Robert. I'll have the 55 gear on. I'm running the blue restrictor, but only have the stock 38 jet. I'll be the least mechnically minded guy out there!! Thanks for your generousity! Richard Sounds good, do need a 6 degree key to set your timing? I'm getting ready to ma...

Re: Chonda Engine Tuning
One more thing to bring with you are rags or paper towels and brake or carb cleaner to clean off the dirt and oil from the head and engine before we reassemble it.
