About GCKI

Learn to Race Go Karts at Gulf Coast Karters, Houston’s only non profit go kart track, facility and club.

Gulf Coast Karters, Inc. (GCKI) is a 501(c)(3) educational organization dedicated to teaching the technical skills, safety protocols, and competitive strategies of kart racing. Our member-supported facility provides comprehensive motorsport education for participants of all ages and experience levels.

What Makes GCKI Different:

• Extensive Track Access: Dawn-to-dusk availability for practice, skill development, and educational sessions any day that is not a scheduled race or event day.
• Competitive Racing Education: Develop race craft through structured competition throughout the year.
• Structured Learning Programs: Member orientation is part of the new member process and scheduled upon receipt of membership. These orientation sessions provide basic information about the safe use of the facility, review of club rules and best practices. Karting 101 Classes are offered the first Monday of every month from 4PM to 5PM. Signup for these classes are available through the website and open to both members and the general public. Additional classes on more advanced topics are posted on the website and available for members throughout the year. All classes are free of charge and provided by the club as a service to the racing community.

Our Educational Mission: We believe that learning to race go karts provides valuable education in STEM concepts, safety awareness, mechanical understanding, and competitive strategy. Our experienced community of racers and members serves as mentors, creating an environment where knowledge is shared and skills are continuously developed.
