I havw a Chonda Kart in great condition and would like to find out who is the maker of the frame, all I can find is a serial # on a cross bar to the left of the seat, any suggestions?

It may be difficult to determine the manufacturer. Are you sure there are no letters or dates of any kind on the chassis tag? What color is the chassis and has it been re painted? What size rear axle does it have? Any pictures?

the serial # had letters and numbers, 17 to be exact. It starts with L5AKENL

Some of the components like the master cylinder, calipers, or the bearing cassettes might have a brand etched into them. Not sure when that practice started but it's been around a while, so unless you have a really old chassis that might help. Some manufacturers stick to one color on the chassis alot so if it original that could be a clue. Bodywork sometimes is a tip off. If you can get a pic posted maybe we can come up with enough clues.

Body work color is pretty slim. Trackmagic and Italkart used to use yellow bodywork. Maybe others.

I sold the kart, it was a 2003 CRG and it went with 2 new modified Chonda engines and lots of other goodies.
