First, the victory...

Home made clutch puller.

And now...what happens when you start a motor without the bell housing over the clutch.

So, let that be a lesson to all...before you do, think. I mean...really think. About 5 minutes before this, my thought was "what harm could it do?" And then I felt a piece of clutch debris hit my face. The motor I was working on hadn't been started in nearly a year, so Kenneth cranked up the idle screw to see if we could get it to start. As the clutch was busy ripping itself apart, it slung a bit of material at my face. So again, think. Our fault for not checking and re-checking everything for danger. It's okay, I'm thinking happy thoughts now, like how much fun it's going to be ordering a new clutch!!!

Be safe.
