2015 Spring Series Opener

Post by Paul Watts » Mon Jan 26, 2015 1:53 pm

Hi all,

Just bought a Chonda kart about a month ago and had it out last Saturday for the first time. Was a ton of fun!

I'm going to enter the race on Sunday Feb. 1. Just wondering who's planning on being there?

Also, since I'm a rookie, wondering what kind of lap times the top 5 typically run? Not looking to run with the there just trying to set my own realistic expectations.

Paul

Welcome to the club! While I currently race a shifter, I did run a Chonda at one time. Typically the fast guys are going to be in the high 48's to low 49's; however, with the recent change from the stickier MG Yellows to the more durable MG Red tires it is hard to say what the fast lap times will be.

Had no idea they switched to MG Red's. Guess I will need to get some new tires.

I find that the MG REDS free the kart up perfect. Mid 47's all day

47's Barry nice! Was that in a LO206 or chonda?

Best I've ran so far was a 48.01 in the chonda, but I haven't been on scales yet and suspect I'm light. Just ordered an LO206 motor so should be out for a race in April/May depending on work travel.
