If you are not aware, the 2014 AKRA rules permit the use of studs on the side covers. With that said, I found some studs and 1 piece serrated flanged lock nuts online at McMaster- Carr.

Upon installation I was a bit concerned there was not enough thread for the nuts on the short side. However, with the conical shape of the flange on the nut, this provides enough threads to get the nuts torqued properly. Personally, I used Red Lock-Tight to install the studs. With the serrated flange on the nuts, you shouldn't require any additional thread locker but I opted for Blue Lock-Tight on the nuts for that extra bit of insurance.
As a side note, I had to drill a clearance hole in the chain guard for one of the studs.
