Rule Book Changes For 2014

Cylinder Head Requirements: Change( Valve seats are of three angles 45 degrees face angle with top
relief of 30 degrees and bottom relief of 60 degrees.)
Add ( Header may also be run without gasket, sealer only.)
Add ( Allen head bolts permitted on header to head)

Block Requirements: Add: (Oil drain hole between lifters .251 no go )
Add ( Any type side cover bolt and lock washer permitted, must be original
size.)

Carburetor Requirements: Add ( Side holes in e-tube diameter .036” no go.)
Add ( Stop arm of throttle shaft maybe filed to adjust for butterfly
position.)
Add ( Surface finish of phenolic spacer inlet track, non tech.)
Add ( Carb bore at rear of carb, .715” maximum depth.)
Add ( surface finish of venturi non tech )
Add ( Choke area must remain as cast )


Valve Train: Add ( Surface finish of contact area of rocker arm to valve stem , non tech, to adjust for
proper lift running lift.)
Add ( Running lift should be checked in front of the rocker arm on the spring retainer.)
Change (Stock steel/stainless nitrate coated valves only 45 degree angle only both valves
with a minimum weight of 21 grams both valves.)
Delete ( Only Box Stock valve springs.)
Add ( Shims may be used to achieve .815” Installed height, maximum thickness of
shims used .045”, any combination of valve seal and spring shims allowed.)
Delete (maximum lip thickness .027”, on valve stem seal )
Add ( Overall length of push rod 5.285” max.)
Add ( Lifters Minimum weight to be 18 grams )
Add ( push rod Minimum weight to be 10 grams )
Change ( Minimum thickness of Intake retainer .225) ( Minimum thickness of Ex. retainer .245 )

Piston and Rings: Change ( Piston must be unaltered Box Stock only.)
(No machining of piston allowed.)
Add (Overall piston length 1.922 Minimum ) and ( from top of wrist pin to top of piston
.565 Minimum )
Add ( Arrow on top of piston must be pointed toward valves/lifters.)
Add ( Overall length wrist pin 2.100” min, inside diameter .550” max.)
Add (Top ring and middle ring .115” max width, .060” max thickness.)
Add ( Filing of ring end gaps permitted including oil expander, max end gap .040”)
Add ( Piston rings must be in one piece (unbroken) when presented for tech.)
Note: ( top 2 rings must support themselves unattached to piston with end gaps facing up )
( oil ring must support the piston and rod assembly when placed in cylinder )

Connecting Rod: Delete (No machining of any type allowed.)
Add (Length from top of journal to bottom of wrist pin hole 2.375” max and 2.350”
min.)
Add ( Honing of journal end and wrist pin hole permitted, those surfaces must
remain flat.)
Add (Oil hole size .173 no go )
Add (New stock Performance rod (forged) allowed)

Well now they are saying a few changes will happen. Seems to have to do with wrist pin stuff from what I gather.
