Gulf Coast Karters is pleased to announce a new sponsor Joe Bauhs Motorsports!
Joe Bauhs Motorsports is a family owned kart service company with a direct focus on bringing quality services and products to the Houston karting community.
Joe has been racing and tuning karts for over 20 years, having himself won many Regional and National Titles and Events, he has worked as a tuner for novices through Pro drivers in karts and has experience working with Formula Ford, Spec Racer Ford, Legend and Late Model Sprint cars.
JB Motorsports has grown from simply helping people at the track, then providing chassis tuning and maintenance services to now being a full service company. Today JB Motorsports is an authorized Intrepid dealer, providing new and used Intrepid chassis and parts support, turnkey engine and chassis packages, track side services, maintenance services, full arrive and drive services and indeed now also offers engine repair and rebuild services. Through some of our associates the team can also provide driver coaching and data analysis at the track.
JB Motorsports is here to serve our customers first, not just on club race weekends but also during private test sessions where you just want to get out to the track and test to find the right set-up or work on driving technique. Our team works with the youngest drivers all the way through to seasoned drivers running in Masters classes, but in each case our customers are people who love to race and want to enjoy what they are doing to the fullest.
At JB Motorsports, our passion is racing, we are here because we love to do this and love to be around other people who share the same passion. For us it's not about the business it's about the friends we make and enjoy being around while doing this! Our focus is to bring quality, fairly priced services and products to the karting community. If you didn't enjoy Karting you wouldn't be doing it, we enjoy helping you so that you can enjoy it even more! This is our motivation.
~ Joe Bauhs.

Changes are underway at GCKI. We are working hard to streamline the membership registration and renewal process. The www.racekarts.com website has been updated to allow new members to register online. This speeds the process and reduces the time GCKI volunteers spend entering the membership data into the database and time to process payments.
So what is different? New members can process their membership online and pay membership using Paypal. Paypal lets you use a credit card or paypal account. Good news, by using Paypal, GCKI does not get involved in handling credit card data. For those who absolutely refuse to use the online system, you can still download and print the paper version of the application form, fill it out, enclose a check and send it to the address on the form. We will not process credit card numbers through the paper forms anymore so you will be limited to checks by mail. Please note, mailed forms will add a minimum of 1 week additional processing time to receiving your membership.
Membership cards: All members will receive new cards in the mail within the next few days, they were mailed out on Thursday February 20th. These new Membership cards will also change for the first time in 40 years! We will no longer be hand laminating the cards. We bought a card printer that allows us to print a professional looking card for all master and associate members 16 years and older. The card will have membership data on both sides and will also include helpful contact information etc. New cards will be coming to all members of record February 1st. Watch for this new card because the gate combination will be changing effective Feb 23rd.
Another change in the works....In these membership packets, we will include two kart tags that include the master member information. These cards will be stamped by the tech inspector on race days when the member submits a signed tech form for the kart. This tech tag will be valid for the race season. Additional member and non member kart bands will be available on race days but all karts racing on track on race days will be required to have a tech band prior to entering the track.
Included in the letter with your new membership cards and kart tags are three GCKI glossy brochures. We are asking members to hand out the brochures to friends, work colleagues and neighbors that you think may be interested in karting and becoming members of GCKI. More members means more fun with more racers and more money to put into improvements at our track. Please let us know if you need more brochures and we will gladly provide them. There will also be some available at the track if you would like to pick up some extras on race day.
We look forward to seeing everyone soon at the track and will be on hand on race days to help you with these changes.
